Imagine yourself in a world where every single morning you wake up to go to work and that work entails going into battle to expel trespassers from the small section of land you claim as your own. Prairie Rose Adventures is taking reservations for its observation blind during March & April 2009. Viewing of the sacred prairie chicken dance is at the peak during the months of March & April. Chickens may be observed in February and May as well. The blind will accomodate 3 people plus the guide.

Registration/Fee:
  • A minimum of 2 weeks notice is required.
  • $75/person with a continental breakfast
  • $50/person with no breakfast
  • A $20 non-refundable deposit is required
What to expect:
Plan to meet at least 1 1/2 hours before the sunrise in order to enter the blind before the birds arrive and remain in the blind until the birds have flushed from the lek - as late as 9:00am. (Arrangements can be made for the guide to pick your group up in the neighboring towns.). You must be able to walk 1/4 mile cross-country.

Suggested items to bring:
  • water-proof boots for walking through dew-covered grass
  • camera & video camera - they are that close!
